Our convent on Mirabeau Ave. suffered extensive flooding.  Everything on the first floor was a total loss.  Many of the sisters with the help of various volunteers spent weekends from October to December cleaning out and then gutting the first floor of the convent.  Because there are still no basic services in that area of New Orleans, our sisters have been transferred to other communities. Sr. Odette, Sr. Carmel and Sr. Teresa Perez are in San Antonio; Sr. Maryann Hoang is at the Formation House in Covington. Sr. Dolores Espinoza is at the Provincial House in Covington.

      However, we remain committed to serving and ministering to the people of New Orleans.  Our future plans include either rebuilding the convent at Mirabeau Ave. or purchasing another house in New Orleans.

We are grateful to the many people who have sent donations to us for our Convent in New Orleans.  We are especially grateful to the many religious congregations from all over the U.S. who have been so generous with their financial support during this time.  We ask God to bless each of you abundantly.  Let us continue to pray for those who have suffered and continue to suffer so much.  We are certain that God will be with us during this time of rebuilding and renewal.
