Sister Lilia Martinez, STJ
went home to the Lord early Thursday morning,
at St. Teresa's Convent in San Antonio,
TX.. She was born in Sabinal,
Texas. She joined the Society of St. Teresa of Jesus when she was 16 years
old. Later, she was sent to Cuba where she spent most of her life cooking
for the sisters and when she came back to Texas, she was on yard duty where she
socialized and brought Jesus to the people through her examples. Even
though she has lost her sight almost completely, she was unwilling to give up
her household tasks. She was very faithful worker and always well beloved
by all the sisters and family.
She died early Thursday morning December 23, 2004 and was buried on Friday
December 24 at noon; so she can spends her Christmas with her beloved Jesus on His Birthday.
May she rest in Peace and let us keep her, her family and the Teresian Sisters in our prayers.
