IN MEMORY
|
Sister Esther Alvarez,
STJ, went home to the Lord on the feast of the Immaculate
Conception, a day after her 96th birthday, in San Antonio, TX.
She was born in Uvalde, TX, on December 7, 1907. She entered the Society
of St. Teresa of Jesus in 1933. Her life was a faithful response to the
Lord and to service in the Church through the ministry of education. Sr.
Esther taught thousands of boys and girls in Louisiana and Texas. She is
survived by one sister, Teresa Aguilera of Uvalde and by many nephews,
nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces who were very close to her. We will
miss, “Nena,” as she was called by many of the sisters and friends, and her
friendly and lively disposition. May she rest in peace and enjoy eternal
life. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, at 7:00 pm at the Angelus
Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral mass will be on Thursday, at 1:00 pm, at
St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, followed by her internment at San
Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery No. 2.
Let us keep her, her family and the Teresian Sisters in our prayers. |
